Brewery Insights: This west coast IPA was developed in celebration of Sierra Nevada’s 40th anniversary. The brewery’s focus has always centered on hop-forward IPAs, which weren’t common the year the brewery was founded. This beer seeks to provide bold flavors with intense pine and citrus.
Review
Overall Score: 6.5
Sierra Nevada consistently brews stronger beers with bolder flavors. This offering hits the mark on bolder flavors for a 6% beer and will be enjoyed by a wide audience. I seek bolder flavors and strong IPAs, but this lower ABV beer still has enough flavor for me to enjoy. Those that consider west coast IPAs their favorite should thoroughly enjoy this beer. The flavors are great, which makes this a solid drink. The creativity is limited and the hops are moderate, so it’s difficult to elevate the overall score. Sierra Nevada is a good brewery and deserves praise for their 40th anniversary. I thank them for introducing me to better tasting beer, which allowed me to put down the Keystones in college. Cheers Degenerates!
