Big Luscious Founders Brewing Review

Overall Score: 7.1 Big Luscious is a wild ride through an intensely sweet and flavorful beer. The raspberry-forward flavors make this perfectly unique, but it could overpower some consumers.

Brewery Insights: A rich and robust stout serves as the foundation for this rich dessert beer. Raspberries lend a tart sweetness, while the dark chocolate increases the indulgence.

Review

Overall Score: 7.1

Big Luscious is a unique and decadent dessert beer that tops the list in sweetness. While many have already tuned this review out based on that initial sentence, it’s a surprisingly consumable beer and worth the purchase. Raspberry dominates the palate, which is uncommon for stouts and makes the flavors very interesting. The dark chocolate balances the fruitiness of the beer and brings it to a smooth, malty finish. It’s tough to imagine a person having two of these, but I strongly recommend giving one a try (the best bet is to split it with someone). The name and graphic is spot on for the experience, and the ABV doesn’t negatively impact it, as I would have guessed 9-10%. This is a good choice when you’re on a liquid diet (because you’re a Degenerate) and you feel like enjoying a dessert. Cheers Degenerates!
