Confused Therapist Dust Bowl Brewing Co. Review

Overall Score: 6.8 Confused Therapist is a mix of styles with a fruit forward palate balanced with moderate hops. This beer will unite the IPA community, but it won’t be a favorite.

Details

Brewery Insights: Confused Therapist receives its title because you’ll be asking yourself – Unfiltered? Hazy? Juicy? New England? What’s the style? This is a softer version of the brewery’s Therapist Imperial IPA with tropical, juice notes.

Review

Overall Score: 6.8

Confused Therapist looks more like a juicy IPA than an imperial IPA. The palate is citrus forward combined with moderate hops. The body is full of tropical flavors and concludes in a nice crisp finish that leaves you satisfied. Hops and pine are evident in the close, which gives you a subtle reminder this is an imperial IPA. However, the juice and haze notes still own the palate, so consumers that enjoy these features will appreciate this offering more than imperial IPA enthusiasts. It’s a creative beer, but not elite.

Degenerate Discussion

Confused Therapist leaves you confused that this is an imperial IPA. However, that matches the brewery’s intention to combine multiple styles (juice, haze, and New England). This is an easy-drinking 10.4% IPA that will allow you to forget all of your problems, rather than investing in an actual therapist. What a racket that profession is to pray on weak, depressed people. Once you accept that you’re a Degenerate, you don’t need some jackass telling you to cope better and change your life…for a ridiculous sum of money. They don’t give a shit about you, just your wallet…But Dust Bowl Brewing cares, so grab a Confused Therapist and enjoy (they didn’t even pay us to write that). Cheers Degenerates!
