Dankful Sierra Nevada Brewing Review

Overall Score: 6.3 Dankful is a solid west coast IPA that is balanced, tasty, and very average. It does nothing to differentiate, but it’s an easy-drinker and pretty enjoyable.

Details

  • Price (6pack): $11
  • Style: West Coast IPA (55 IBU)
  • ABV: 7.4%
  • Brewery: Sierra Nevada Brewing
  • Location: Chico, CA and Mills River, NC

Brewery Insights: Dankful IPA leverages Columbus Idaho 7, Zappa, Columbus, Mosaic, and Chinook hops (among a few others). The IBU is moderate and relatively low for Sierra Nevada. Remarkably, Dankful IPA is positioned to assist non-profit organizations and has raised over $1 million to assist communities. This is an appreciated feat…but one that may land low on a list of Degenerate priorities (naw, good for them).

Review

Overall Score: 6.3

Dankful is a tasty, perfectly average IPA. Everything about this beer is moderate – flavor, aroma, and hops (not in a bad way). This offering will be enjoyed by a wide audience and should receive limited criticism. Dankful is a good IPA if you’re going to a friend’s house or hosting guests and plan on having multiple beers. The 7.4% ABV is enough to give you a nice buzz or have you dancing in a few hours, depending on how you want your night to go (the world is a Degenerate’s oyster). If you’re expecting a unique beer, you’re better off looking elsewhere. This is Sierra Nevada, so you should expect consistency, but limited creativity. Cheers Degenerates!
