- Price (6pack): $11
- Style: Hazy IPA (45 IBU)
- ABV: 7.1%
- Brewery: Dogfish Head Brewing Co.
- Location: Milton, DE
The brewery suggests Hazy-O drinks more like a 5% beer than a 7% and leverages four types of oats to create a unique, silky palate. This beer attempts to bring ‘all the juice’ for extreme haziness and offer citrus, mango, and pineapple flavors.
Overall Score: 5.9
Hazy-O is an interesting beer and one that will be celebrated by some and okay to others. The palate is very smooth and offers unique creaminess, something rarely experienced in a beer. Consumers that enjoy hazy IPAs will consider this a favorite for it’s craftsmanship, but it will likely be a ‘changeup’ beer rather than crushing a 6 pack. The bitterness and hops are low, which is a detractor for me (could be good to some). Overall, it’s a solid beer and worth trying. Dogfish Head always comes through like an ugly sidechick or a guy stuck in the friend zone. Cheers Degenerates!
